Arson, riot: closing arguments on Oct 11

Closing arguments will be submitted on October 11 in the trial of 11 accused of setting a woman's vehicle on fire.

The accused were reportedly among the mob of rioters that attacked security patrol vehicles in Sitra on October 15 last year.

They hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at the security forces. The woman was reportedly driving her car at the location of the riot. Firebombs hurled by saboteurs hit her car and it went ablaze.

The 46-year-old woman was reportedly with her daughter at the time of the incident, and both of them jumped out of the moving car to escape the fire.

"The car finally stopped after crashing into a concrete barrier. It was mostly damaged by the collision and the fire," the woman said in her statement.

"Police officers told me the blaze erupted because it was hit by a firebomb," she added.

The 46-year-old reportedly suffered wounds to her face and hands. The accused captured after police investigation.
