Arab Financial meetings discuss public-private partnerships

Manama : The latest financial and economic developments as well as a working paper on fostering public–private partnerships in Arab countries by World Bank were discussed during the Joint Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions and the 9th Annual Meeting of Arab Ministers of Finance.

Bahrain’s delegation to the meeting was led by Minister of Finance, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. The meeting held in Jordan was inaugurated by the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Dr Jafar Hassan.

The annual reports of the Arab Financial Institutions were reviewed during the meetings, along with a follow-up of their plans and schemes and the nomination of their auditors for the fiscal year 2018. Ministers also reviewed a working paper on subsidy policies in Arab countries, which was prepared by the Arab Monetary Fund.

The Arab Financial Institutions consist of five entities, namely Arab Monetary Fund, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation, Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa and Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
