The first phase of construction works on a sewage network in Al Sahla Complex 441 has reached 58% completion rate.

This was confirmed by the Director of Sewerage Planning and Projects Department at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Engineer Fathi Abdullah Al Farea.

The project is a continuation of the sewage network in the old village of Al Sahla.

Al Farea said that works include the construction of 1,500 metres of main lines and 600 metres of branch lines, in addition to 150 inspection rooms and the connection of 100 housing units to the main sewage network.

He pointed out that the project falls within the Ministry’s programme to develop sanitation services in the Northern Governorate in light of urban development.

It aims to achieve sustainable development of this sector, provide the best services to all regions of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and ensure a healthy environment for the citizens and residents.

The tender for the project has been awarded by the board to Yoko Engineering with a value of BD364,143.

The Ministry calls on the residents of the region to cooperate and abide by the warning and indicative traffic signs on the worksite.

It also apologises for any inconvenience during the project implementation period.
