A domestic servant who aborted her foetus will spend six months and 10 days in jail. The convicted woman had earlier alleged that a stranger had raped her and as a result she got pregnant.

After aborting the foetus, the woman filed a complaint, saying that a “man had kidnapped and raped her”.

However, later, the woman took a volte- face on her statements and admitted to having sex with a man she got acquainted with.

The convicted woman revealed that she had fled from her sponsor’s house with him and she had sexual intercourse with him.

“After I got pregnant, I had been drinking Pepsi and taking Panadol pills for three months. Then suddenly bleeding started and the foetus came out,” the woman told the prosecutors.
