Kuwait City:An 11-year-old girl has died in Kuwait after succumbing to injuries caused by falling shrapnel in a residential area, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, March 4.

According to the ministry’s official spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the child, a resident of Kuwait, was injured in the Capital Governorate, in Kuwait City. The incident occurred amid heightened regional tensions linked to the ongoing Israel-US-Iran conflict.

Emergency medical teams responded immediately after receiving reports of the incident and arrived promptly at the scene. Resuscitation efforts were carried out in the ambulance while transporting the girl to Al-Amiri Hospital and continued for nearly half an hour after her arrival at the medical facility. Despite sustained efforts by medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries.

The ministry added that four members of her family, including her mother, are currently undergoing medical evaluation and have been placed under observation to ensure their safety and monitor their condition.

In its statement, the Ministry of Health extended its sincere condolences to the girl’s family and wished those injured a swift recovery.
