CARACAS: Venezuela has released three hundred prisoners under a newly enacted amnesty law aimed at reducing overcrowding across the national penitentiary system.

The Ministry of Prison Affairs oversaw the coordinated releases, which primarily targeted individuals who had already served a significant portion of their sentences for minor or non violent offenses.
