Boston: The United States Coast Guard has called off its search for six persons onboard a medical transport plane that crashed off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The Gulfstream G100, operated by Canadian business Latitude Air Ambulance, was flying from Bermuda to Boston when contact was lost early Saturday.

A debris field associated to the aircraft was later discovered in the Atlantic, sparking a massive search by Coast Guard planes, boats, and cutters. Over the course of 66 hours, crews searched around 4,445 square miles but found no survivors.

The six passengers on board comprised four Canadian crew members and two Bermudian nationals, a patient and a family member. Latitude Air Ambulance stated all six are considered deceased and that it will work with US and Canadian authorities on the investigation and recovery efforts.
