The UAE has experienced a drop in temperatures to single digits, with Raknah (Al Ain) experiencing the coldest day of the year on January 10 at 5.3°C.

This marks the lowest temperature recorded by the National Centre of Meteorology so far this year in the country.

Raknah has experienced colder temperatures this year compared to most other areas, with Jebel Jais mountain experiencing a drop to 7.2°C on January 9.

Since the start of 2024, mercury has dipped below 10ºC in the country. Some mountainous regions are expected to experience even lower temperatures.

The winter months officially began on December 21, and experts predict a milder winter compared to previous years.

Outdoor and adventure enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the cold weather to enjoy the snow-capped mountains of Jebel Jais.
