Trial begins for ‘fake bombers’

Two men accused of planting a fake bomb pleaded not guilty yesterday before the High Criminal Court. The duo are said to have planted a fake bomb on Jid Ali Highway on January 13, 2017.

According to court documents, the first defendant, aged 20, was arrested after DNA samples extracted from the scene were found to be matching.

He admitted before the prosecutors that he made the device with the help of his co-defendant, stating that they wanted to trigger fear among people living in the area.
