Speaker of the Jordanian Senate Dr. Abdur-Rauf Rawabdeh said that Bahrain represented a strategic depth of his country and the security of the two kingdoms was integral. He was speaking while holding talks with the Bahrain delegation led by Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla and here yesterday.

During the meeting, Al-Mulla lauded the outstanding brotherly deep-rooted relations bonding the two leaderships and people. “The two kingdoms have set a unique example of bilateral relations thanks to the directives of HM King Hamad and King Abdulla II of Jordan.”

He said that the Kingdom had succeeded in snuffing out terror acts and plots with the support of the cohesion of all segments of people, the GCC, Arab and friendly countries. “The kingdom is resolved to carry on its reforms and democratic march, and cement unity among all segments of its society.”

“Jordan’s leadership and people are aware of the extent of Iran’s plots and interference in the domestic affairs of Bahrain and other GCC countries, as well as the efforts of terror groups to spread chaos, spark sedition and jeopardize national unity and social fabric,” he observed.

He said the two countries had suffered from the phenomena of terrorism and extremism and added that foreign-backed terror groups aimed to impede the democratic process in the country.

“Therefore, combating terrorism, eradicating it and drying up its sources are a national and historical responsibility that requires concerted efforts and coordination among parliaments,” Al-Mulla explained.
