Bahrain FM Al Zayani Reveals Scale of Iranian Attacks at UN

Manama: Bahrain’s Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani told the UN that Gulf states and Jordan had faced nearly 7,000 Iranian attacks, involving 1,700 ballistic missiles, 80 cruise missiles and 5,220 drones.

He said the attacks targeted civilian facilities, residential areas, ports, airports and energy installations, describing them as violations of international law and the UN Charter.

Al Zayani also said 2,000 cargo vessels and tankers carrying around 20,000 seafarers had been detained, while 72 commercial vessels were targeted, killing 22 seafarers.

Highlighting the Strait of Hormuz, he said Bahrain rejects restrictions, permits or fees imposed on vessels using the international waterway, stressing that freedom of navigation is essential to regional and global security.
