10 Million Meals Prepared for Gaza
Dubai event brings volunteers together to prepare food aid
More than 10 million meals were prepared for families and children in Gaza during the Ahmed bin Rashid Humanitarian Bridge event, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in cooperation with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The event was held in memory of the late Shaikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and saw wide participation from volunteers and members of the UAE community, who helped prepare food aid for people in need in Gaza.
The event was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, and senior officials.
Mohammed Saleh Al Sharif, spokesperson for Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, said the UAE operation has provided humanitarian, medical and food aid to Gaza since its launch in November 2023.
He said the aid provided has exceeded $4 billion, including 126,862 tonnes of supplies transported through 796 aircraft, 25 ships and 14,003 trucks.
The Birds of Goodness initiative has also carried out 81 air drops, delivering more than 4,000 tonnes of aid to areas that were difficult to reach by land.
The operation has also supported food security through automated bakeries and provided drinking water through desalination plants and distribution networks, in addition to supporting health and education services.
In January 2024, MBRGI announced AED43 million ($11.7 million) in direct food aid to Gaza in cooperation with the World Food Program, benefiting around one million people.
In 2025, MBRGI spent more than AED2.3 billion on humanitarian and development initiatives, benefiting around 165 million people in 122 countries.
