An Arab man stabbed his roommate in Dubai to death after the victim protested against smoking in the room, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

The 42-year-old man, a guard at a government department in the emirate, got mad when his roommate lighted a cigarette and told him to smoke outside.

“His friend was furious…he brought a knife and stabbed him to death before fleeing the building…he was later arrested by the police,” Emarat Alyoum daily said.

It said police were searching for another suspect, who lives with them in the same apartment in Barraha neighborhood.
