Liquor ban officially denied

Manama : The authorities in Bahrain yesterday confirmed that “no ban has been imposed on liquor and nightclubs in the five-star hotels in Bahrain”.

Rubbishing the rumours that swarmed local social media networks in this regard, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayd bin Rashid Al Zayani said: “Services provided by five-star hotels in the Kingdom will continue and no changes have been made.”

According to a report, claimed to be issued by Tourism Undersecretary in the ministry, doing rounds on social media networks, the undersecretary has approved a resolution to ban the sale of liquor and to shut nightclubs and bars at all five-star hotels in the Kingdom.

DT News reported yesterday that the document was shared by thousands in Bahrain and GCC countries.
