Kingdom’s support to Yemen stressed

Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa yesterday reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering stance in support of Yemen.

“Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is keen on the necessity of restoring stability in Yemen and confronting flagrant foreign inference in its internal affairs,” he said.

He voiced the stance as he met Yemeni Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulmalik Abduljalil Al-Mekhlafi on the sidelines of the Arab League Council Ministerial extraordinary meeting in Cairo, Egypt yesterday.

Shaikh Khalid confirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support to the legitimate leadership of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi as well as participation in the Arab Alliance in defence of legitimacy in Yemen.

He stressed the necessity of reaching a political settlement and reiterated Bahrain’s resolve to continue contributing to all humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating Yemen people’s suffering.

Dr. Al-Mekhlafi paid tribute to Bahrain for its active participation and sacrifices, which are highly valued by the Yemeni Government and people.
