Israel to Honor 4 Flydubai Passengers With ‘Heroism’ Awards
Israeli President Isaac Herzog will present awards to four Israelis who overpowered the Flydubai co-pilot and prevented a catastrophic crash.
JERUSALEM: Israeli President Isaac Herzog will honour four Israeli passengers who helped overpower a flydubai co-pilot and prevent what officials described as a potentially catastrophic incident aboard the aircraft.
The four passengers reportedly risked their lives by intervening during the flight and helping bring the situation under control.
Praising their actions, Herzog said their courage reflected the bravery and sense of responsibility Israeli citizens show in moments of extreme danger.
Herzog, who serves as Israel’s head of state in a largely ceremonial role, commended the passengers for putting themselves at risk to protect the lives of others on board.
The four are expected to receive special awards in recognition of their actions and their role in preventing a possible disaster.
