Iran Reopens Airspace After Long Shutdown

Tehran: Iran reopened its airspace late Wednesday after a nearly five-hour closure prompted by concerns over possible USA-Iran military tensions, which disrupted airline operations.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said Iran closed its airspace at 5:15 p.m. ET, allowing only approved international flights. Flights operated by Iranian carriers, including Mahan Air and Yazd Airways, were among the first to resume.

The temporary shutdown came as President Donald Trump considered potential responses to rising tensions in Iran amid widespread anti-government protests. A U.S. official said some American personnel were being withdrawn from Middle East bases after Iran warned it could target U.S. facilities if Washington takes military action.
