Fresh stocks of medicines arrive at Health Ministry warehouse

As per the directives of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to boost stocks of medicines at Salmaniya Medical Complex and health centres across the Kingdom, Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh yesterday paid a visit to inspect the process of unloading shipments of approximately 430 types of medicines at the ministry’s main warehouse.

Health Undersecretary Dr Waleed Al Mani’, Assistant Undersecretary Fatima Al Ahmed and officials were present.

An official of the Materials and Supplies Department reviewed the mechanism of receiving and storing shipments of medicines before distributing them to hospitals and health centers.

The minister said the ministry has implemented a shortterm plan to cover medical stock shortage to meet patients’ needs.

The minister was informed of the quantity and types of medicines available at the ministry’s warehouses, which have been received earlier according to the two-day short-term plan set out by the ministry.
