Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dossari lauded the role of the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS) in rehabilitating young people and honing their creativity to be able to assume leadership positions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Inaugurating the Bahrain Universities Model United Nations Conference (BUMUN) on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa here yesterday, he said, “These efforts also fulfil the hopes of the people for progress and prosperity, realize youngsters’ aspirations for a promising future and prepare a generation of young leaders who can perceive well what is going on in the corridors of the United Nations.”

The event is organised by GOYS under the auspices of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

Al Dossari noted that the topics chosen for this training module were amongst the most important issues on the national, regional and international arenas as they cover social, cultural, scientific, security, economic and political areas. It also includes issues relating to women, youth, cutting-edge science and technology and environment and climate change, with all the serious challenges it poses.

He also lauded the advanced role being played by GOYS and its officials through such educative practices, preparation of young people and providing them with these institutional drills.
