Willemstad :Curaçao’s journey toward the 2026 World Cup has been thrown into disarray following the sudden resignation of head coach Fred Rutten. The experienced Dutch manager stepped down from his position just as the national team was intensifying preparations for critical qualification matches.

The timing of Rutten\'s exit is a significant blow to the Caribbean nation\'s footballing ambitions, as he had been instrumental in professionalising the squad\'s tactical approach.

While the federation has yet to name a permanent successor, the search is urgently underway to ensure the team remains focused on achieving a historic first-ever World Cup appearance.
