The Coast Guard has intensified its inspection efforts to curb maritime violations and ensure that sailors and fishermen comply with fishing regulations, aiming to protect the nation's marine resources.

As part of an ongoing campaign, authorities have arrested several individuals found engaging in illegal fishing practices using prohibited trawling nets during the annual shrimping ban period. Legal action has been taken against the violators.

The Coast Guard reaffirmed its commitment to conducting these enforcement operations regularly to safeguard marine, environmental, and wildlife resources. Officials also underscored the importance of adherence to fishing regulations, urging fishermen to comply with established guidelines to sustain marine biodiversity and ensure the long-term viability of the industry.
