CCTV sabotage; Court rejects appeal

Manama : The court has rejected the appeals of two men accused of destroying a security camera installed on a local mosque in the village of Dair.

They were earlier handed down six months behind bars each and were ordered to pay a combined total of BD1650 for the damages they caused to the camera and the property.

Samaheej police arrested seven defendants in connection with the case. However after police investigations, it was found that only three men, including the two appellants were guilty. The third man was earlier given six months in prison. All the three were granted BD500 bail each, pending the appeals court’s decision after they contested their initial verdicts.
