Manama : Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has announced the appointment of Nada Ishaq Abdul Karim as Executive Secretary to its Board of Directors.

The move comes within the bank’s strategic plans which aim at nurturing Bahraini personnel and qualifying them to fill senior administrative positions. It is also in line with “Ishraq” Initiative- Back to Basics 2016.

Commenting on the appointment Hassan Amin Jarrar, BisB CEO said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nada Abdul Karim in this important position, becoming the first woman to fill this position. We appointed her based on her academic qualifications and practical experience of 16 years, during which she held administrative positions related to banking and business in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

“Mrs. Nada Abdul Karim’s appointment in this position is part of our continuous support for qualified Bahraini women. It will also encourage Bahraini personnel who have skills and competency, and it is part of the implementation of one of the pillars of “Ishraq” Initiative- Back to Basics, which the bank launched during the first Town Hall meeting in March 2016, Hassan Jarrar added.
