The General Command of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) has invited civilians to volunteer to join the Reserve Force in continuation of the first phase.

Relatives of the military and civilian staff and retirees of the BDF and the National Guard are eligible to register.

Applicants should register on the BDF’s website using the following link: https://www.bdf.bh, provided that:

1- They are Bahrainis.

2- They are aged between 18 and 55. However, technicians and specialists are exempted from the upper age limit requirement.

3- They should have good conduct, and not convicted by a court for felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.

4- They are medically fit for military service in the reserve force, and successfully pass the medical examination prescribed by the system of the BDF’s military medical committees.

5- They should submit an application for volunteering on the form on the website.

In its statement, the BDF General Command asserted that contributing to the protection of the homeland and maintaining its security, stability and territorial integrity are a sacred national duty and an honour for citizens. The Reserve Force Law, promulgated by Decree-Law (5) of 1987 and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant thereto, regulate all rights and duties of the Reserve Force as an auxiliary force for BDF and guarantees the benefits and entitlements that result from that.

The General Command indicated that during the first stage, the door to volunteering shall be limited to male citizens of the relatives of the affiliates of BDF and the National Guard, military, civilians and retirees. Meanwhile, in the second stage, an announcement will be made to open the door to volunteering for the rest of the social groups (males and females).
