Bahrain’s national futsal team lost to their Moroccan counterparts 0-6 last night in the semi-finals of the fifth Arab Futsal Cup 2021, being held in Egypt.

The Bahrainis have been eliminated from the competition while the Moroccans move on to play in the gold medal game against the host Egyptians.

Egypt defeated the UAE 4-3 in the other final four contest yesterday. Bahrain made their debut in the tournament this year. They are coached by Brazilian Lino Gomes.

The Bahrainis finished the tournament with two wins to begin the group stage before losing their last game before heading into the semi-finals.

The national team roster included Sayed Fadel Radhi, Sayed Mohammed Hamid, Youssef Janahi, Ahmed Abduljaleel, Ahmed Abdulnabi, Ahmed Antar, Ali Al Alwani, Ali Hussain, Ammar Hassan, Falah Abbas, Jassam Anan, Mirza Al Nuaimi, Mohammed Abdulla, Muhammad Al Sindi, Saleh Ahmed and Salman Al Mulla.

The Arab Futsal Cup last took place in 2008, also in Egypt, when Libya was crowned back-to-back champions, after having also won in 2007.

Egypt won the tournament’s first two editions, held in 1998 and 2005. They also were the runners-up the two previous times.
