American jailed for killing Sri Lankan wife in Saudi

Riyadh : A Saudi court sentenced an American to five years in prison after he was convicted of killing his Sri Lankan wife, a newspaper reported on Monday.

‘Sada’ quoted police as saying the victim’s decomposed body was found hidden inside a pipe in an oil well in Central Saudi Arabia, where the husband works.

Forensic examination showed the body had been there for nearly eight months before it was found by oil workers in the area.

The paper said the court sentenced the husband to five years in jail after he denied killing his wife, adding that the victim’s relatives demanded death as punishment.
