Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: At least 17 people were killed and ten others injured on Monday after a moving passenger coach collided violently with a stranded bus parked along a motorway in Pakistan.

The catastrophic collision occurred in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as many victims were traveling home ahead of Eid, one of the most important religious festivals in the Muslim calendar.

Local authorities reported that the stationary bus was parked on the side of the highway after experiencing an unexpected technical issue. The oncoming passenger coach failed to avoid the vehicle and smashed into it at high speed.

Emergency response teams rushed to the site to extract victims and transport the seven injured survivors to nearby provincial hospitals. Police have initiated an official investigation into the crash to determine if speeding or driver fatigue caused the disaster.
