The 13th edition of the “HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work” will honour prominent Arab voluntary work pioneers in recognition of their noble humanitarian role, and the great sacrifices they make to serve their communities, Board of Directors Chairman of the Good Word Society, Arab Union for Voluntary Work President, Hassan Bu Hazza, said.
Bu Hazza indicated that the honorees will be selected according to the mechanisms and objective criteria set by the organising committee, in cooperation with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work.
He attributed the remarkable progress of the award to the constant support of Cabinet Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary and Honorary President of the Good Word Society, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, citing HH’s pioneering role in promoting voluntary work locally and at the Arab level through the adoption of many initiatives aiming to consolidate volunteering culture and values, as well as social solidarity as essential mechanisms for the advancement of societies.
Launched in 2011, the “HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work” is organised by the Good Word Society in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Union, and it aims to encourage young people to provide innovative solutions through voluntary work to face challenges and crises.
