Road project nearing completion

Manama : Work on Malkiya entrance and roads in the vicinity are nearing completion, Roads Projects and Maintenance Director Sayyed Bader Alawi has said. The project is part of the paving of dirt roads programme, aiming to provide infrastructure services as per priorities set for the Northern Governorate.

The Ministry has completed paving 90 per cent of the roads in the block. Work is underway to implement storm water drainage tanks, construct speed humps and put in place traffic signs and ground markings. The project will serve 90 housing units and facilitate movement in Malkiya. Alawi explained that the project comprises of paving a total of 2.6km long roads, implementing ground channels for present and future use.
