Rain in Dubai cause over 500 accidents

Low visibility due to rain caused more than 500 traffic accidents across the emirate in six hours, Dubai Police said.

According to Emirates 247, The Dubai Police Command & Control Unit revealed that it received more than 2,503 emergency calls and recorded 515 traffic accidents between 6am until 12pm today.

Brigadier Omar Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Acting Director of Operations, Dubai police said accidents happen during bad weather conditions. “Motorists should always keep a safe distance between cars and adjust their speed to the weather conditions… Allow extra time for your journey and check your planned route. It’s also advisable to slow down as rain makes roads slippery.”

Al Shamsi also said, "People should follow safety instructions and regulations to avoid accidents."
