Ministry steps up inspections before Eid

With Eid Al-Fitr just around the corner, authorities here have intensified efforts to clamp down on unethical practices, profiteering and violations. Industry Ministry squads are holding Inspections at markets, shopping malls, beauty shops, salons, sweet shops and other stores since the onset of Ramadan.

Hundreds of shops in the Kingdom have already put up promotional offers expecting bumper selloffs this season. “Inspections are being intensified at markets to confirm the validity of the promotional offers,” the ministry statement said.

The move, according to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Tourism, is to ensure that there are “no misleading or fake offers’ in the market. The Ministry confirmed that its Inspection Centre is taking extra measures to catch, “Fake and misleading offers”
