Man to be executed for raping daughter for 10 years

Cairo : An Egyptian court sentenced a 45-year-old man to death after he was convicted of raping his daughter for 10 years, causing her to get pregnant twice.

After delivering her first baby when she was 20 years old, her uncle took the newborn away and killed the infant, newspapers said.

She got pregnant again a few months ago but her father forced her to take miscarriage pills, causing her to lose the baby.

The girl told court that her father started to rape her when she was 15 years old and that he continued to do so for nearly 10 years.

She said she could not report him after her father’s two brothers threatened to kill her, adding that she did not know the two babies’ sex.
