Lewis Smith excel in Bahrain Rotax Challenge

Lewis Smith of Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) Motorsport Team won the Junior Max category in the second round of the Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge, held as part of the 2019/2020 Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) at Bahrain International Karting Circuit.

The BAS team Ambassador, who is also a member of the Praga Middle East international karting team, was in sensational form all throughout the event. He started the qualifying session strong and posted the fastest lap to claim pole position for the Pre-Final. At the beginning of that session, he lost one position but fought back throughout the 11 laps to retain first place and secure pole for the Final.

Lewis had a great start in the 15-lap finale. He enjoyed a well-deserved pole-to-flag victory, which helped him move to the top of the Junior Max championship standings after two meetings. The BAS Motorsport family wish Lewis the best of luck for the remaining five rounds of the BKSC season.
