‘Imprint’ an exhibition of portraits drawn by a talented Bahraini artist Zahra Al Ahmed, was launched at the Harbour Gate, yesterday.

An initiative by Financial Centre Development Company, the exhibition aims to promote local artists by giving them an avenue to showcase their works.

The expo was inaugurated by Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and will run for four weeks. Fourteen pieces of “Imprint” drawn by Zahra Al Ahmed has gone on display at the exhibition, representing the beauty of portraits, the emotional expressions on the features and the reflection of life experiences.

This is the first exhibition for the Bahraini artist Zahra and it represents the stages of her journey in art, wherein she chose to only display portraits of people who had an effect on peoples’ lives and who left an influence on their minds, souls and personalities.

Speaking to Tribune, Zahra said, “I have been always drawing and painting portraits but have never challenged myself to exhibit my work and paint on such a large scale.

“The exhibition is called ‘Imprint’ wherein I tried to portray different individuals who have lived great lives and have inspired many individuals.”
