The Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) launch vehicle LVM3 yesterday successfully placed 36 satellites in their intended orbits.

In its sixth consecutive successful flight, LVM3 carried 5,805 kg of payload to Low Earth Orbit, ISRO said in its official twitter account.

ISRO launched LVM3-M3/OneWeb India-2 Mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, a barrier island in the Andhra Pradesh state of India.

The satellites belong to UK-based Oneweb, the low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications company.

OneWeb tweeted: " Our team has contacted all 36 satellites launched this morning, meaning we have now launched all the satellites required for global coverage."

This mission marked OneWeb's second satellite deployment from India in partnership with ISRO and New Space India Limited (NSIL). The first batch was deployed last October.

The launch brings the total of OneWeb's constellation to 618 satellites.
