Sameer Nass has called for intensifying collaboration with China in various high-tech domains, terming China “an important partner for the Arab World.”

Speaking during the “Arab-Chinese Economic Conference” in Saudi Arabia, Nass stated that the Arab world and China should boost cooperation in areas such as 5G communications, renewable energy, space exploration, the digital economy, and logistics.

He also highlighted the remarkable growth in Arab-Chinese trade, which has surpassed $319.295 billion.

Chinese foreign direct investment in Arab countries has exceeded $23 billion—a twofold increase in the past decade.

Nass, the President of the Union of Arab Chambers and Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber cited the longstanding partnership between the two regions, which dates back more than 1,500 years to the ancient Silk Road that connected Chinese and Arab civilisations.

The “Arab-Chinese Economic Conference” organised by the Saudi Ministry of Investment was in collaboration with the Union of Arab Chambers, the GCC Secretariat-General, the Arab League, and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Nass emphasised that the conference signifies a new phase of cooperation and investment, fostering collaboration across numerous sectors.
