Brazilian forward expected to sign seven-year contract

Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Brighton & Hove Albion striker Joao Pedro in a deal worth £60 million, according to multiple British media reports on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Brazilian is expected to pen a seven-year contract with the Blues after two impressive seasons on the south coast. Pedro joined Brighton from Watford in 2023 and scored 30 goals and registered 10 assists in 70 appearances across all competitions.

Chelsea are hopeful the forward will be available for their FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final against Palmeiras in Philadelphia on Friday. His arrival bolsters Chelsea’s attacking options ahead of a crucial summer under manager Enzo Maresca.
