BisB holds forum of Shari’a advisors, legal experts

Manama : Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has held its second forum to examine Islamic banking principles entitled “Shari’a Compliance and Applicable Laws in Islamic Banking” at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel in Manama.

The forum, which brought together supervisory bodies and specialists in Islamic banking, discussed a number of topics that will directly lead to the enactment of laws, regulations and governing principles related to the financial activities of Islamic banks in Bahrain and the countries under Shari’a governance.

Commenting on the occasion, Shaikh Dr Abdul Latif Mahmood Al Mahmood, Chairman of BisB’s Shari’a Supervisory Board, declared the forum to be a success in terms of the selection of topics of debate and discussion.

Hassan Jarrar, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, said: “These types of events and forums are critical in order to further develop the Islamic Banking industry as a whole.”
