Bapco Energies Confirms Third Fatality Following Refinery Incident

Bapco Energies has announced the death of Hossam Ahmed, who sustained critical injuries during the tragic incident that occurred on May 2, 2025, at the Bapco Refining Complex. The employee passed away while receiving medical treatment, the company confirmed in an official statement.

The incident, which took place in one of the operational safety equipment units within the Bapco refinery, initially resulted in two fatalities and one injury. With the latest development, the total number of employee deaths has now risen to three.

Bapco Energies extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased employees and reaffirmed its commitment to providing full support to all those affected.

The company also emphasized that the situation was brought under control swiftly, operations remain stable, and an independent investigation is currently underway to determine the root cause of the incident.
