Caracas: Interim President Delcy Rodríguez has stated that Venezuela will hold elections when they are ready, despite ongoing ambiguity regarding the date for returning to the ballot box. According to Rodríguez, Venezuela is now in talks with the US to ease or lift sanctions. She stated that these measures are part of setting circumstances for an election process, but did not provide a particular date for the vote.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated that Venezuela is not ready yet for elections. During a press conference, Trump stated that the country requires more time, praised Rodríguez, and expressed support for elections.
