Washington DC: President Donald Trump said he was glad Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the United States, declaring he was ‘happy’ about their departure.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump accused the couple of treating the British royal family with ‘great disrespect’.

Trump singled out Meghan, calling her ‘terribly disrespectful’ to the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. He stated that if he were in the royal family's position, he would not have taken the couple back.

The couple's return to Britain with their children, Archie and Lilibet, marks the end of their six-year exile in California after relinquishing working royal roles.

They plan an extended stay in England's Cotswolds region, enrolling their children in school there.

Harry recently mended relations with King Charles III, who is battling cancer, though he remains estranged from his brother, Prince William.

Their move follows reports that commercial deals with American platforms like Netflix and Spotify had fallen flat.

Meghan faces ongoing public hostility in Britain, where polls show widespread unfavorability, even as the couple keeps homes in California and Portugal.
