The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has stressed that all individuals and companies providing student transportation services must obtain the required licence before starting operations.

The reminder comes as Bahrain prepares for the 2026/27 academic year and as part of ongoing efforts to regulate and oversee the school transport sector.

The Ministry said licensing helps ensure that vehicles and drivers meet the required safety and technical standards, supporting the provision of safe and reliable transportation for students.

Individuals and companies wishing to provide student transport services have been urged to complete all licensing procedures before beginning operations. The Ministry warned that operating without the required licence is a violation of the relevant regulations.

Parents have also been urged to verify that school transport providers hold valid licences before contracting with them. They can check the list of licensed providers through the Ministry’s website.

The Ministry is continuing its efforts in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate of Traffic to strengthen regulation, improve compliance and enhance the safety and quality of school transportation services across Bahrain.
