BSA presents lunar exploration research at international space assembly in Italy

The Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) made its first participation in the COSPAR 2026 Scientific Assembly, held in Florence, Italy, from August 1 to 9.

The biennial event brought together more than 3,000 researchers and space experts from over 60 countries.

Space Engineer Yaqoub Al Qassab represented BSA and presented two research papers developed with the University of Strathclyde in the UK.

The studies covered lunar exploration, digital simulation, rover navigation, drilling and resource extraction.

Established in 1958, COSPAR is a leading international organisation dedicated to space research and holds its scientific assembly every two years.
