Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Türkiye Hold First Defence Committee Meeting

Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz led the Saudi delegation in Istanbul on Monday for the first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

The meeting brought together senior defence and foreign affairs officials from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye to discuss strengthening their strategic partnership and cooperation.

Participants reviewed issues of mutual interest and adopted a number of decisions and recommendations included on the meeting’s agenda.

Prince Khalid highlighted the depth of the strategic ties between the three countries, stressing that their security is closely interconnected.

He said addressing common challenges and threats requires political coordination, defence integration and collective military readiness.
