The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) has welcomed its newest volunteers through an interactive workshop aimed at helping them understand how their values, skills and personal motivations can contribute to humanitarian service.

Held at the society’s headquarters in Manama, the “Our Mission: Answering the Call” workshop formed part of BRCS’s volunteer induction programme. It encouraged participants to reflect on their reasons for volunteering, identify the contributions they hope to make and explore roles that match their interests and strengths.

The session was delivered by Iman Al Khajah, Capacity Building Specialist at BRCS, under the supervision of Adel Al Jar, Board Member and Assistant Secretary-General for Committees Affairs.

The workshop included practical discussions and activities covering leadership, teamwork and essential relief knowledge to help new volunteers respond confidently and responsibly when humanitarian needs arise.

Participants were also introduced to the values of humanitarian action and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, providing a foundation for their involvement in BRCS programmes and initiatives.

BRCS said effective volunteering begins with a clear sense of purpose, noting that understanding individual motivations helps volunteers choose roles where they can contribute most effectively, develop their capabilities through experience and maintain a long-term commitment to serving others.
