Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised Germany's sanctions and diplomatic actions against Moscow in response to an attempted drone strike at Leipzig/Halle Airport, calling them 'another mistake.'

Germany said its investigation concluded that Russia was responsible for the August 4 incident, in which an explosives-laden drone was discovered near a Ukrainian cargo plane. Berlin has retaliated by closing a Russian consulate, terminating an arrangement with the Russian House in Berlin, and advocating for additional EU measures.

Putin denied the claims, claiming that the material was faked and accusing Chancellor Friedrich Merz of manipulating the allegations for domestic political goals. Russia has warned that it will respond to Germany's actions.
