Powerful explosions hit a Syrian army weapons site near al-Eis, south of Aleppo, prompting emergency response teams to rush to the scene.
Aleppo: A series of powerful explosions at a Syrian army weapons depot near Al-Eis, south of Aleppo, injured at least four people on Monday, state media reported.
Civil defence teams evacuated the injured as further blasts rocked the site. Authorities closed roads leading to the area and urged residents to stay indoors while emergency teams remained on alert.
The cause of the explosions was not immediately known. Witnesses in Aleppo reported hearing a major blast and seeing large flames from several kilometres away.
The incident follows several recent explosions at military sites across Syria, including a blast in Deir Az Zor that killed 11 people on Friday and a weapons depot explosion in Idlib earlier this month that killed 14.
