New EV Charging Station Signals Bahrain’s Push for Greener Transport

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications launched an electric vehicle charging station at its headquarters as part of a joint initiative with Zayani Investments and Al Salam Bank to support sustainable mobility and encourage electric vehicle adoption.

The initiative included installing the charging station, allocating a dedicated parking space for electric vehicles and placing relevant signage.

Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Postal Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, said the initiative supports developing sustainable transport and adopting environmentally friendly technologies and solutions.

She emphasised the importance of developing infrastructure for sustainable mobility and strengthening partnerships with the private sector to support practical sustainability initiatives and reduce carbon emissions.

A number of electric vehicles were also displayed at the ministry's headquarters to familiarise employees with available technologies and models and highlight the benefits of electric vehicles.

Zayani Investments and Al Salam Bank underscored the importance of public-private sector cooperation in expanding electric vehicle infrastructure, promoting sustainable transport options and reducing environmental impact.
