Egypt, Sudan and US Discuss Efforts to End Sudan War
Egypt stressed protecting Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
New York: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem and US President Donald Trump’s senior adviser for Arab and African affairs, Massad Boulos, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss efforts to end Sudan’s war.
The trilateral meeting focused on de-escalating the conflict and creating conditions for a sustainable political settlement that protects the interests of the Sudanese people.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of preserving Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and state institutions, while calling for greater regional and international efforts to end the conflict through dialogue and negotiations.
Abdelatty also held separate talks with Boulos on Libya, Yemen and the Iran crisis. He called for de-escalation and political solutions, while stressing the need to protect the security and freedom of maritime navigation in line with international law.
