Nisshin: China’s women’s cricket team were eliminated from the 2026 Asian Games without playing a ball, as their quarter-final match against Bangladesh was called off due to wet conditions in Nisshin, Japan.
Continuous rain and adverse weather at Korogi Sports Park delayed the match, making it impossible to even hold the toss. According to the tournament rules, Bangladesh moved on to the semi-finals due to their superior international ranking.
Ranked 10th in the ICC Women Women’s T20I rankings, Bangladesh will take on the winner of India’s quarter-final against host Japan in the semi-finals on September 20, while China sits at 36th.
